TJ Müller
T.J. Muller is a multi-instrumentalist and bandleader based out of St. Louis, where he directs both The Arcadia Dance Orchestra and The Gaslight Squares. Although based in Missouri, T.J. was born in Canterbury, England. Always traveling from a young age, T.J. began playing traditional jazz cornet with his family band, led by his father Rev. Anton Muller. Whilst living in Edinburgh, Scotland, T.J. was offered a job with touring Americana group- Pokey Lafarge. During his tenure in the Lafarge band T.J. performed on ‘The David Letterman show’, ‘The Grand Ole Opry’, ‘A Prairie Home Companion’ and the PBS music documentary ‘American Epic’. During this time he also settled in St. Louis where he began working with members of ‘The St. Louis Ragtimers’, regularly playing alongside cornet player Bill Mason. After leaving the Lafarge ensemble, T.J. established his own groups in St. Louis and began specializing in the historic jazz music of Missouri. T.J. has directed two successful jazz banjo revues in St. Louis and recently appeared at the west-coast ragtime festival. He is a fixture of the St. Louis jazz community and can be found performing weekly with his own groups and appearing with Missouri favorite, Miss Jubilee.
