Strategic Plan
The Mississippi State University Libraries strives to provide exceptional resources, services and facilities to MSU faculty, staff and students as well as the broader community throughout the State of Mississippi and the Southeast. Recognizing that Mississippi State University is a comprehensive research University and a Land-Grant University, the MSU Libraries develops its collections, services and facilities to meet the growing needs of its constituencies.
In 2022, the Dean of Libraries launched a new initiative to develop a new Strategic Plan for the MSU Libraries. As a part of the strategic planning process, the planning committee utilized a combination of quantitative and qualitative data to develop the the plan. This included distributing a new survey and hosting more than 15 focus groups to assess the needs of the campus community. The process included revising the libraries Mission, Vision and Values as well as developing the Strategic Directions, Goals, Objectives and Strategies.
