To better assist students with their writing needs, the MSU Writing Center will move to Mitchell Memorial Library. The Center will be located on the second floor of the Library in the Research Instruction and Outreach area. The new area will consist of offices for the Writing Center staff, and collaboration space to meet with students.
“We adore our old house on President's Circle and have appreciated the years we have had there, but we are incredibly excited to have a new, fresh space to share with writers across campus,” said Loree Rios, Director of The Writing Center. “Our new location in the library will be convenient for students, as it's located right off of the Drill Field. Having a central location on campus is a dream come true for us.”
Rios added that “Mrs. Lindsey Ketchum, the Associate Director of Planning & Design, has been working hard to design this space to fit our needs and our mission. We want our space to be accessible as well as conducive to success, and she's doing everything she can to bring functional, innovative design into the new Writing Center space.” If everything goes as planned, The Writing Center should be able to move into the new space Summer 2024.
