Library Liaisons & Representatives
The Library Liaison - Library Representative Program is the main vehicle for communication and collaboration between the Library and the academic departments. Good communication between the two groups ensures that departmental faculty members are conversant with the services and resources of the MSU Libraries and that Library personnel are aware of departmental initiatives and faculty needs. A faculty member designated by his/her academic department to serve as Library Representative is the department's primary contact with the Library and is expected to share all communication from the Library with departmental colleagues. The Representative will also express the interests of the department to the library faculty member assigned to the department, the Library Liaison. Together the Liaison and the Representative will plan outreach activities for the students, faculty and staff of the department and will guide and evaluate, on a continuing basis, the development of the collection in relevant disciplines.
