Responsibilities

Managing the MSU Libraries Virtual Reference services, I am responsible for supervising and training librarians offering email, chat, mobile and social media reference services. As the chair of the Library 2.0 Committee and social media librarian, I oversee the MSU Libraries' social media presence. In my role as the MSU Libraries' Agriculture and Life Sciences Reference Librarian and Extension Librarian, I provide research consultations, workshops, and develop department and course-specific research guides.

My research focuses on new methods of providing and assessing virtual reference services.

Teaching Areas

I teach workshops on Emerging Technologies for Research, Managing Identity in Social Networks, Instant Messaging, Facebook, Wikis, Podcasting, MySpace, Social Networking for K-12 Librarians, Social Networking for Public Libraries, MLA/APA and Word, Biblographic Instruction for ENG 1113 and CO 1003, as well as Library Staff training in Emerging Technologies.
