The Reveille Digital Archive
The MSU Libraries have partnered with the Lyrasis Mass Digitization Collaborative to digitize each volume of the Reveille published in print from 1898 to 2008. The Reveille chronicled the lives of the students of the Mississippi Agricultural and Mechanical College (later renamed Mississippi State College and finally Mississippi State University), throughout the institution's history.
The Reveille had a few variations over the years. It was first published in 1898, and then from 1906 to 2008, with two exceptions. In 1913 it was temporarily renamed "Private 1913." Also, the Reveille was not produced in 1944, due to paper restrictions required for the war effort in World War II.
The Libraries partnered with the Lyrasis Mass Digitization Collaborative to complete this digitization project through a subsidy grant from the Sloan Foundation. Each of the volumes is searchable thanks to the use of optical character recognition (OCR) software and freely available for partial or complete download.
