The Reference Department's mission is to support you in your academic and intellectual efforts by assisting you in the use of library materials to address your research questions. Librarians and staff are available to help you in person, over the phone, via email, and through chat technology. You can also schedule an appointment with one of our librarians for in-depth, subject-specific help or a general orientation to library resources.
The Reference Collection consists of both print and online resources. Print materials cannot be checked out, but are available for use during hours the department is open. Most online resources are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and via remote access for users with a current NetID and password. Some examples of materials that are considered part of the Reference Collection include atlases, dictionaries, encyclopedias, indexes and databases (both print and online), and style manuals.
