MSU Libraries now produces podcasts! A podcast is an audio and/or video file that is distributed on the Internet via RSS feeds and that you can subscribe to and collect through the use of an aggregator such as iTunes. Once loaded onto your aggregator, a podcast can be played on your computer or transferred to your MP3 player. What is a Podcast?

How do I listen to a Podcast?
If you have iTunes, the easiest way to listen to a podcast is by clicking on the orange podcast button (
) found next to the title of the podcast. This will open iTunes and begin downloading the most recent episode. You can get other episodes by clicking the "Get" button next to each. iTunes will automatically download any new episodes that are added to the Libraries' page.
If you DON'T have iTunes, the Feedburner page will offer suggestions for sevral web-based and downloadable podcatchers (or aggrigators). Podcast feeds operate like any other RSS feed with the exception of an "enclosure." In this case, the enclosure is the sound or video file. Opening a podcast feed in a RSS reader is similar to opening an email with an attachment. You will see a description of the podcast episode and will be able to click on the file to listen.
