About the Project

The Mitchell Memorial Library Expansion Project will add a 21,000 sq. ft. floor to the Library's northeast corner. Construction will begin in July 2015 and take approximately 18 months to complete.

While we are excited about the expansion of the Library and the opportunities it will provide, we realize that it will cause disruption to the campus community. Traffic patterns will be affected, and parts of the Library will be much louder at times. We will update this website with news of the project's progress, images from plans and construction, and information about any foreseeable disruptions.

Please bear with us as we expand the Library. We look forward to the opening of a new Point of Pride for Mississippi State University!
