Steve Bullard is Professor of Forestry and Chair of the Department of Forestry in the College of Agriculture at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Bullard accepted his current position at the University of Kentucky in 2004, following his retirement from MSU. Dr. Bullard holds a B.S. degree in forestry and an M.S. degree in forest economics from MSU, and has a Ph.D. in forest economics and management from Virginia Tech. He is an active member of the Society of American Foresters as well as the Forest Products Society. He has served as an associate editor for Forest Science, the Canadian Journal of Forest Research, and the Southern Journal of Applied Forestry. Dr. Bullard joined the faculty at MSU in 1983, and while at MSU he published over 100 scientific and technical articles. Dr. Bullard received MSU’s John Grisham Master Teacher Award in 1998, and he was named the College of Forest Resources’ Sharp Professor for 1999-2002. Dr. Bullard served as Director of the Institute of Furniture Manufacturing and Management at MSU (2001-2004), and he also served as Interim Head of the Department of Forest Products (2002) and Interim Head of the Department of Forestry (2003-04), before retiring from MSU in 2004. At the University of Kentucky, Dr. Bullard has administrative responsibility for research, teaching, and extension programs in the Department of Forestry, which also includes comprehensive programs in wildlife and conservation biology.
