Dr. Harkness specializes in Animal Welfare, Animals in Research and Teaching, Animal Behavior, and Veterinary Ethics.
He has an M.S. in Laboratory Animal Medicine, an M.Ed. in Higher Adult Education, and D.V.M. certification. Dr. Harkness has been at MSU since 1984 and is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, as well as several other professional organizations.
