Educational equity is at the foundation of all Dr. Brocato's research efforts. Figuring out how to innovatively, equitably serve the underserved public school students of Mississippi is my passion. She has buried herself in research on Studio Based Learning and design thinking since 2003 with a project called Studio School found at http://studio-school.msstate.edu/ . With West Point, Oktibbeha County, Noxubee County, and Starkville School Districts and the Mississippi State University department of Landscape Architecture, Dr. Brocato is currently involved in research to examine how the propose-critique-iterate process of Studio Based Learning might affect disengaged middle and high school learners. To support her school reform inquiry, she enjoys traveling with her teacher education and educational leadership students to schools in the southeast documenting how schools reform themselves. She has presented details of this line of inquiry annually at the American Educational Research Association (AERA) from 2002-2011. Brown, A., Sparks, A. & Brocato, K.
