This Month's Recipient

LaRaven White

LaRaven White

LaRaven White is the Library Student of the Month for September.  She is a Senior Political Science major from Belzoni, MS and has worked in Special Collections as a Student Assistant for 2 years.

LaRaven enjoys traveling and learning as much as possible about the political system as she can.  She also has a love for working and participating in community service projects.

LaRaven has a very unique way of motivating herself, "I allow my failures to act as a form of motivation in my life. I am a self-motivated, outstanding student who believes my ambitions are only visions of the reality later to come."

She also says she has gained invaluable experience working for the Mitchell Memorial Library, "I have received the opportunity to network with individuals of great significance along with obtaining professional skills that will benefit me in my future career endeavors."

LaRaven demonstrates that success can be accomplished with a lot of self-determination and hard work.

Congratulations LaRaven!
