Academic Search Premier

The diverse content available in this database assists in performing a thorough investigation of research topics. Academic Search Premier's scholarly collection includes embedded images and provides journal coverage for most academic areas of study--including education. This database provides full-text access to over 4,500 journals.  You must be a current MSU faculty member, staff member, or student to access this database.

ERIC
ERIC, the U.S. Department of Educational Resource Information Center database, contains indexing and abstracts from thousands of research and technical reports in the Resources In Education Index (RIE) and from more than 750 education and education-related journals in the Current Index to Journals in Education (CIJE). Note that the ERIC database is undergoing some changes. A web page describing these changes and offering MSU users other educational research options is available at the Changes to ERIC website.   You must be a current MSU faculty member, staff member, or student to access this database.
MAGNOLIA K-12 Resources
MAGNOLIA is Mississippi's state-wide consortium, providing databases and full-text resources to public and school libraries, community colleges, and universities, as well as the citizens of the state of Mississippi.  The K-12 website provides access to MAGNOLIA databases available to Mississippi public schools, as well as useful web links and lesson plans for MAGNOLIA databases.

Electronic Journals
Through the Library's databases and journal subscriptions, users have access to thousands of electronic journals.  Our electronic journals website allows users to search by the title of the journal or by a keyword in the title of the journal.  (NOTE:  to find articles on a particular topic, use one of the databases above.)  You must be a current MSU faculty member, staff member, or student to access most electronic journals.

APA Citation Style
 
There are a number of resources available to assist you in citing your sources.  Here are just a few of the APA-related citation resources.

American Heritage Book of English Usage

This online guide covers English usage and much more.  Users can choose their preferred type of usage (modern or American English, for example) and find information about usage, an online dictionary, and even quotations!


American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language

The unabridged American Heritage Dictionary, Fourth Edition, contains over 90,000 entries and meanings. Word definitions are further enhanced by examples of use, usage notes, and over 70,000 audio word pronunciations.

GEM: Gateway to Educational Materials

Mississippi K12 Curriculum Frameworks

Provides access to the state of Mississippi's curriculum frameworks. 

National Center for Education Statistics

The National Center for Education Statistics or NCES is the federal agency who's mission is the collection and dissemination of educational statistics.  Here you'll find online access to the Condition of Education and the Digest of Education Statistics as well as a wealth of other statistical studies.
