The John Grisham Room, located in Mitchell Memorial Library on the campus of Mississippi State University, contains papers and materials donated by the Mississippi State University alumnus and best-selling novelist. The room was dedicated on May 4, 1998.

Many of the materials were generated during Mr. Grisham's 1983-1990 service as 7th District representative in the Mississippi Legislature, as well as from his phenomenal literary endeavors.

Included among the collection are legislative subject files; the original manuscript and various revisions of his first novel, A Time to Kill, as well as drafts of The Firm, The Pelican Brief, and The Client; various photographs of his legislative and literary days; correspondences, including fan mail, personal letters, requests for public appearances, and solicitations; and promotional materials and newspaper clippings.

At present, access to the literary files is restricted.

Among the audio materials is a 30-second commercial promoting The Firm.

The Grisham Room is open from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
