The room's main purpose is to provide a place where individuals from campus and community may come to view materials and memorabilia directly related to the writings and achievements of John Grisham. Seminars, receptions, lectures and other functions related to teaching, research and service can be scheduled.
SEMINARS
1. The Conference Room, located on the southwest corner of the building, is available on a scheduled basis for departmental meetings, student organizational meetings and community functions.
2. Requests for scheduling a meeting must be made as far in advance as possible.
3. First priority for scheduling the Conference Room will begin with academic units or other university related functions. The Room will accommodate 12 people with first priority given to sessions lasting no longer than 90 minutes.
4. Audio-visual equipment (overhead projector, LCD projector and screen) is available upon request.
5. Access to this area is available between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
RECEPTIONS, LECTURES AND OTHER FUNCTIONS
1. This is primarily an exhibit area but may occasionally be used for stand-up receptions associated with the university.
2. All receptions, lectures and tours must be scheduled during the regular operating hours of the Library (preferably between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday). Requests must be made by completing the online request form below. Call (662) 325-2559 should you have questions.
3. Podium, tables and chairs (up to 75) are allowed on the display floor for lectures and/or presentations. Requests for set-up must be made at the time of initial reservation. A $50 set-up charge will be invoiced to the reserving department.
4. Food and beverages are allowed. However, the Grisham Room has no kitchen facility. Clean-up is the responsibility of the reserving department/organization. All food and related utensils must be removed upon the conclusion of the event. Carts are available upon request.
5. Reserving department/organization will be responsible for any damage to the Grisham Room or the Library.
6. This area is designed to accommodate 75 seated or 150 standing.
7. All functions must be conducted in an orderly atmosphere conducive to a scholarly setting.
