Sonny MontgomeryThe Center’s collections include the papers of Mississippi United States Senator John C. Stennis, Mississippi United States Congressmen G. V. “Sonny” Montgomery, David R. Bowen, Chip Pickering, Mike Espy, and Charles Griffin, and also included are papers of Wiley Carter, staff assistant to U. S. Senator Thad Cochran, and Wayne Weidie, staff assistant to U. S. Congressman Gene Taylor. The Mike Espy papers also include items from Espy’s years as U. S. Secretary of Agriculture. Mississippi state senator Bob Montgomery and Mississippi state representative Steve Holland have donated their papers to the Center, and oral histories are planned to document activities of public officials at the city and county levels of government.

imgAccess to Center collections requires completion of access and personal data forms. Reference room visitors must provide photo-identification cards. Photo-duplication services are available. Duplication procedures are carried out in accordance with Federal copyright laws and professional archival preservation standards regarding conditions of materials. No materials may be checked out under any circumstances. Additional material collateral in nature and subject content to the collections may be found in the Special Collections Department (third floor) and the Government Documents Department (second floor) in the Library.
