Module 2: Search Basics

In Modules 3 and 4, we will look at how to search for books and journals using the Online Catalog and how to find journal articles using the library's indexes and databases. This module examines the basic search types and search techniques used with those and other electronic resources.

By the end of this module, you will be familiar with:

• The structure of database records
• Keyword searching
• Boolean searching
• Truncation
• Limiters
