Workshops and Seminars

In order to assist students in their research, the MSU Libraries offers a number of workshops and seminars, many of which are designed specifically with graduate students in mind. Survival Skills for Graduate Students Seminars

This series of seminars teaches graduate students how to make the most out of the library's resources and services, as well as how to manage time when working on a thesis or dissertations. Topics include "Developing a Literature Review" and "Research and Dissertation Basics."

Beginner's Software Workshops

These workshops, conducted by the Instructional Media Center (IMC), introduce essential software applications such as Excel, PhotoShop, PowerPoint, and more.

Intermediate Software Workshops

These sessions, also conducted by the IMC, provide more in-depth coverage of software introduced in the beginner's workshops.

Databasics Seminars

These sessions provide an introduction to various information resources such as citation indexes, PubMed, and EndNote. There are also workshops on APA Style and Copyright.
