Access Services Department

Access Services

Access Services handles all of the traditional Circulation and Reserve functions as well as the Interlibrary Loan functions/services.

The ILL service has been enhanced with the addition of the OCLC ILLiad software. This software automates the ILL functions, creates a paperless environment and a virtual service. Patron interaction is handled over the internet, allowing the patron to access the system from any computer on the Internet. Patrons can place requests as well as check the status of their requests via the ILLiad web interface. For more information on ILLiad, refer to the Frequently Asked Questions.

In addition to ILL, Access Services provides faculty and students with another valuable service, Reserve and Electronic Reserve collections. Faculty can make their class materials (i.e. class readings, notes, sample tests, articles) available to students using the Reserve and Electronic Reserve collections . Materials placed in electronic reserves can be searched through the Library's online catalog. Students will be able to search for their materials and view them using Adobe Acrobat Reader. For more information on Reserves, refer to the Services tab above.
