Scope and Contents

Confederate soldier, attorney of the 6th Judicial District, State legislator, and attorney general of Mississippi. Correspondence from family, friends, and clients in Mississippi, Alabama, and Washington State relating chiefly to legal matters and to Nash's career as attorney general; casualty lists, roster, and other papers relating to Harvey's Scouts, a Confederate cavalry company of which Nash was a member; business papers (1872-1924) including accounts, bills, scattered tax statements and receipts (1872-1912) from Starkville, Mississippi, and Port Townsend, Washington; and legal documents including insurance policies, stock certificates, deeds, records of legal cases, guardianship papers, and promissory notes.
